Welcome to our Lancaster County Bed and Breakfast

We welcome you to the Walnut Lawn Bed & Breakfast nestled in the Lancaster County Village of Lampeter, PA. This brick two-story Dutch Colonial offers four large guest rooms with private baths. When you arrive at the Walnut Lawn you will notice the giant walnut tree that shades the front of the B&B, along with the mature fruit trees that line the driveway. A spacious wrap-around porch welcomes you to our Inn and once inside you will marvel at the beautifully maintained custom-crafted chestnut woodwork and pocket doors.

Enjoy a morning cup of coffee on our expansive front porch with its bench swing, wicker garden furniture, and antique rocking chairs. Our guest-friendly grounds welcome you to stroll around the water fountain or sit on our garden swing while admiring the flowering wisteria bush adorning the pergola. Any time of the day, our guests can gather in the gazebo for a friendly game, conversation, or just to relax. In our fast-paced world, there is a feeling of peacefulness in seeing an Amish buggy roll by.

We are in the midst of Amish and Mennonite farms near covered bridges, outlet malls, antique and quilt shops, theatres, museums, and outdoor markets. If you like to bike or hike, there are numerous trails throughout the County. Enjoy a day packed with a buggy ride, a tour of the Amish farm area, and feasting on a whoopie pie or shoofly pie.

Our inn has hosted visitors from around the world.  We enjoy exchanging life and travel stories with our guests, and we have accommodated families who attend area weddings, special events, college visits, and for those who just want to get away.

Beth, your Innkeeper, spent fifteen years as a research scientist and geneticist but always dreamed of having a B&B in the heart of wonderful Lancaster County.  In September 2014 that dream came true when the wonderful previous owners, Tom and Sarah, retired from innkeeping and sold the business to Beth.  She has always enjoyed hosting family and friends, and now welcomes the opportunity to offer you a unique lodging experience within the Amish and Mennonite culture of Lancaster County.

We are a member of the Authentic B and B Association, the Lancaster Bed and Breakfast listings, the B&B directory, Pennsylvania Visitors Bureau, and the Greater Lancaster Hotels and Inns.

Notes Box:  We like to think of our Inn as a home away from home for all our guests and yet be enchanted by our ambiance and hospitality. We are always available to our guests in helping them plan their day or where to visit or where to eat. To have guests have a unique and enjoyable visit is our greatest satisfaction.  ~ Beth, Innkeeper.
