Quilters converge.

I have had guests from the Lancaster area before. Usually they are couples getting away for the night, but not wanting to be too far from their kids. But Judy lives only about 1/3 mile down the road. She stopped by one day to see the place to see if it would work for her quilting group that likes to travel and work on projects together. As it turns out, it was a perfect spot for them. Judy, of course is local, but the other ladies traveled from Chester County for a weekend get-away

As a quilter myself, it was great to witness the camaraderie of the ladies and watch their creativity come alive in the group.  They all had different types of projects.  Judy worked on a baby quilt, pillowcases, and placemats. Lou made adorable baby quilts with crayon themes.  Terry worked on a star quilt with Americana themes. Chris made some beautiful mariners compasses. And Debbie worked on some needlepoint.  quilting group 2The living room was filled with sewing tables and their machines, an ironing board, and a cutting table but there was plenty of room for everyone to feel comfortable and spread out.quilting group 1 quilting group 3

For three days the ladies sewed and ironed and cut fabric and ironed and sewed and ate and sewed and ironed (and on and on and on) and had a grand old time.  It was a wonderfully productive weekend gathering for them.  They plan on coming back soon for another weekend in the fall.  I, for one, can’t wait!  I think I will join them with some of my own projects.
